'Selina' and 'Bruce' Strike A Pose

Thanks to TorontoCatWoman.Com, Sneak Peek actors Christian Bale as 'Batman' aka 'Bruce Wayne' and Anne Hathaway as 'Catwoman' aka 'Selina Kyle', posing in an "Entertainment Weekly" magazine cover shoot.

Warners' upcoming Christopher Nolan-directed third 'Batman' feature "The Dark Knight Rises", is based on DC Comics' characters.

Hathaway reportedly adored the look of her slinky, feline character.

"I love the costume because everything has a purpose," she said. "Nothing is in place for fantasy's sake, and that's the case with everything in Christopher Nolan's 'Gotham City'."

Hathaway said she drew inspiration from actress Hedy Lamarr to help shape her performance, as "...she would take these long, deep, languid breaths and exhale slowly. There's a shot of her in 'Ecstasy' exhaling a cigarette and I took probably five breaths during her one exhale. So I started working on my breathing a lot."

Hathaway has no misgivings about playing a 'villain', conjuring up the ghostly image of actor Heath Ledger from Nolan's "The Dark Knight".

"You look at Heath's performance as the 'Joker', there was a lot of madness there but there was also a grace and he had a code. There's a lot of belief and codes of behavior in Gotham and my character has one, too."

Hathaway insists her take on 'Catwoman' , played by several actors before her will be sexy and unique.

"A lot of the way she moves and interacts with people is informed by her worldview. Chris has given us all such complex, defined, sophisticated worldviews that it's just a matter of doing your homework and getting underneath the character's skin."

'Catwoman' was created by writer Bill Finger and illustrator Bob Kane, partially inspired by Kane's second cousin by marriage, Ruth Steel. The original and most widely known Catwoman, 'Selina Kyle', debuted in DC Comics "Batman #1 (Spring 1940) as 'The Cat'.

She was a beautiful whip-carrying burglar with a taste for high-stake thefts.

Catwoman was then portrayed in the 1966 "Batman" TV series by actresses Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether and Eartha Kitt.

Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed Selina Kyle in 1992's "Batman Returns", followed by Halle Berry in the 2004 stand-alone "Catwoman" feature.

Catwoman is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, with razor-sharp "Wolverine"-like retractable claws, also wielding an assortment of bullwhips and cat o' nine tails.

Catwoman is also one of Batman's most enduring love interests, usually depicted as his one 'true love'.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is slated for release, July 20, 2012.
